Implementing Strategy

Awareness

Creating awareness about the advantages of using Solar Energy to the general public and the Local body officials by conducting seminars and other awareness programmes.

Staff Recruitment

One field staff, each in every Panchayat will be recruited covering 100 Panchayats in each state. Training will be imparted to them at the State training Centers equipping them for fulfilling the duty assigned to them.

Local Self Government Participation

Tie-ups will be done with Panchayats, other LSGs in identifying and selecting    beneficiaries.

Trainings

Providing regular Training to the beneficiaries in handling solar equipments and its proper usage.

Loan

A suitable Bank will be identified before Loan procedures are initiated.

Procurement

Procurement of solar equipments that meet MNRE specifications will be made from MNRE approved forms and agencies. 

Supply and Installation

On sanctioning of the loans, Supply will be done to the office in each panchayat. The appointed field staff and service agency/ centre will effectively carry out the installation in each house and any further service as required will be done by this core group.

Loan Repayment

In the case of JLG’s, loan repayment will be monitored by the field staff and support wherever needed will be ensured.  Each group is advised to conduct monthly meeting 5 days prior to the loan repayment date, in presence of the field staff.  Repayment amount is collected and paid to bank by the president/secretary. Accounts are maintained by the JLGs.

Research

Continuous research activities will be done for technical development and for implementing new technologies. Quality Control will ensure the quality of the product and high standards will be maintained always.

Certification

All possible Certification of the product will be done to promote confidence in the end user.

Subsidy

Subsidies, wherever applicable, will be provided to beneficiaries through all concerned departments.

Setting up of a National Research Institute at Thiruvananthapuram to create innovations in the sector of Non- convention al Energy through R& D

Setting up of 10 State level Institutes named State Institute of Solar Energy Management (SISEM) for providing Training, power generation and installation.

Setting up of a minimum of 10 Production Units, one in each State.

1000 Service Centres , one in each Panchayat to provide timely service to the beneficiaries.

5000 Trained people to look after installation and Service in each State.

5 Lakh household to reap direct benefit from this project.

Awareness creation to general public, targeting on minimum of 5 lakh beneficiaries in each State by 2020.

Financial Saving to the beneficiary & the State.

Overcoming of health hazards created by the existing Tube lights and CFL lamps.

Reduction in environmental pollution.
